University Observation Study

Main tools: R, Tableau This project collected data on Rockhurst University student locations and activities during finals week. I was in charge of this project from designing the intake form, determining collection methods, and collecting data.  To assess the data, I performed a market basket analysis using R to describe groups, and visualized data using Tableau. Analysis of Library Webchats

Main tool: Python This project involved working with natural langauage processing using NTLK.  I performed sentiment analysis of library webchat transcripts, topic extraction, creation of a library-centered dictionary, and mapping to the Reference Effort Assessment Data (READ) scale to determine whether the actual difficulty of reference questions matched the perceived difficulty of the question.

Horses & Heroes Social Media

Main Tools: R, NodeXL, Fanpage Karma Total analysis of Horses & Heroes social media presence, including demographic research and channel recommendations. This was a part of the Capstone project: Rockhurst Horses & Heroes

Circulation and Student Success

Main Tool: R Describe students who check out books using k-means, and create a decision tree to predict who will check out books.

Library Building Usage

Main Tools: R, Tableau Created visualization that demonstrates building usage compared to enrollment and predicts future trends.

ILL Borrowing and Lending Patterns

Main Tool: Tableau Dashboards and visualizations with interlibrary loan data include real-time updates that demonstrates the importance of consortial and courier agreements on borrowing and lending patterns.

Library Website Analysis

Main Tool: Google Analytics Analyze whether a library website optimization had a positive or adverse effect on library traffic.

Public Library Advocation

Main Tool: Tableau Use visualizations to share insights into the value of Missouri public libraries in light of state funding cuts.

Libary Data Connections

Main tool: Tableau Analyze interlibrary loan requests, reference statistics and instruction sessions for insights and correlations.
